Before I say anything else, let me share this before it burns a hole through me: Whether you believe in Him or not, whether you believe His truth or not, whether you blame Him for anything and everything or not, He loves you. You matter to God. He sees you.
Somewhere along the way we have twisted everything up and decided that God is made in our image and not the other way around. If we continue along that path of thinking we will believe everything wrong about God. We will believe that He is fickle, hard to please, feckless, stingy, unforgiving, and capricious. Who would allow that God to love them? That is not who He is. It is His very nature to love us perfectly. That means He gives tenderness when that is the very best thing for us and He gives us tougher love when that is the best thing for us. That means He will not remove choice from us. He will never force us to love Him. Every thing He does, even though we don’t understand a lot of it, is for us and never, ever, ever, against us. He won’t change in that. He can’t change in that. He sees all of His people (and that my friends is everyone – most just don’t know it yet) and is keenly interested in everything about us. He burns with the desire to restore us to wholeness. He sees us. When I say “see”, I am talking about outside, inside, thoughts, feelings, fears, wounds, blood cells, DNA. He sees it all. All of it matters to Him.
He is not like us. We don’t like that. We want things that we can examine and pick apart and fit into our molds because we want things we can control. When we realize that we can’t control God because we didn’t create God we label Him and dismiss Him as a “crutch” or a “fairy tale” or a “figurehead for the simple and unenlightened folk”. He is unaffected by our disdain. He is relentless in the pursuit of our hearts.
See that picture at the top? That is sand magnified 250X. The Lord God our Father created every bit of that and knows the number of grains in the world. He knows each sparrow and the feathers on each of them. He is not distant and uninvolved. He longs and laments to restore us and set us free. It always amazes me at the amount of vehemence atheists use to keep God at bay. They are so angry. It is my observation that atheists are twisted tightly in a state of flux because they want to believe and fall into Jesus so badly they can’t stand it but refuse to even allow for the possibility of such love.
I’m going to end where I began. I don’t care who you are or what you have done or who you have blamed or how brilliant you are or how broken you are……. You matter to the King and Creator of all things and He will never ever tire of searching, pursuing, and literally running after you.
Would you be bold and daring (even if you don’t feel bold or daring) and let the Father love and care for you a little more today than you let Him yesterday? Don’t you want every bit of you (at magnification 250X) to be loved extravagantly? I do.
Loved this so much!
This. Made. My. Day. I love the straightforward thought…HE loves you. Always. No conditions. No questions. No kidding!
Loved this,needed this.
Love this, and so thankful for all my blessings!
I couldn’t have made it this far without him, he has seen my family through a lot of hard times!
So thankful for his love!
We do matter! Thank you for reminding us! No matter what!
We have a mission team in Belize at a VO-Tech school for boys from troubled homes. At noon, several of us were asked to teach a 45 minute bible study at 12:30. One of the group had been talking about grains of sand that morning. We this lesson, tied it to Romans 5:1 – 6. It went so well. Thank you Kris
